We approach film projects with respect and with the awareness that our work can speak to audiences for many years. We focus not only on technical excellence but also on the specific role of sound when telling a film story. In practice this connection of technology and dramaturgy is guaranteed by a supervisor who establishes a team of sound engineers comprising of foley specialists, SFX editors, dialogue editors, a music editor and a sound mixing engineer.

We prefer a complex approach to projects, i.e. cooperation of the supervisor as regards the location recording. Connection and channelling of the needed number of studies helps speedy and effective preparation of materials for mixing. 

With the changing character of the local and foreign production the share of television series in our portfolio is also increasing. It is pleasing that their sophistication often draws near to the requirements applied to film projects. Television series taught us to be precise, patient, fast and cooperating as a team. Similarly as commercials and films we like to do the TV series in a complex way, including the location recording and ever more often including the music component and its dramaturgy.

Advertising orders are usually delivered in five technologically interconnected studies, which enables efficient working on more spots or campaigns at once. The sound engineer is rather in the position of a sound director. To select the right voice we are updating the database of several hundred Czech and Slovak actors on a regular basis. If we need a real English or American, no concern is necessary as we have them even in Prague or we can connect to the studios worldwide.  Good advertisement also requires good music. In addition to an online access to most of the music libraries we can offer our own music composers. 

Foleys are the field where experience and routine meet with the need to experiment and play. The unbelievable number of props from our collections invite to do so. And if we need something really special, we have access to the Barrandov fund and we cooperate with the armorer company Flash FX.  With only a slight exaggeration we can say that "we do not provide things with the sound they have but with the sound they SHOULD have". Foley is usually a part of the projects we participate in and we are also offering it as an independent service.

Recording of voice post-synchrony is an independent specialized activity for which we use two of our studies with specific characteristics of the recording rooms and with a great choice of microphones with various characteristics. We gained a number of valuable experiences with ADR in the course of cooperation with Disney Studios. As regards real time transmission we are equipped with the WorldNet Milano apt-X and Telos Zephyr ISDN systems and also with the Source Connect IP software.

The music industry is going through a difficult evolution but we are ready to mix and master. With the exception of some of our desk clerks we all played or are currently playing in a music band, music is therefore a natural part of our lives. Show must go on!

Since the launch of digital cinematography digitalization of significant classical works is still actual. The process itself runs in three stages:  digitalization, restoration and remastering. Before initiation of any work we always carry out a due research of available documents and procedures with the aim to gain the highest quality material for another processing. When restoring the work is similar as in fine arts; we proceed from the largest "sound scratches" to the finest ones and gradually remove them. Remastering is the final polishing and packing for the needs of showing at the current cinemas and data carriers.

In 2004 we understood that the best results can be reached only when we participate from the beginning. With this on mind we founded Soundsquare Rentals, s.r.o. specializing in the location recording.

Interconnection between shooting and post-production proved be beneficial as regards almost all types of projects as it enables us to more accurately meet the technical and dramaturgical requirements of our customers. Thus we also assume responsibility for the entire sound component of the project, which each filmmaker will certainly appraise.
